Cake Frosting Recipe INGREDIENTS
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz. semisweet chocolate (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup butter
Cake Frosting Recipe INSTRUCTIONS
Place the chopped chocolate in a bowl of an electric mixer.
Place the heavy cream into a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove it from the heat.
Pour the cream over the chocolate and stir the mixture until all the chocolate is melted and completely mixed in. Allow the cream and chocolate mixture to cool to room temperature.
Once cool, place the bowl on the electric mixer and beat until light. In a separate bowl, beat the butter until smooth.
Add the chocolate mixture, one third at a time, and mix until smooth.

Makes 7 cups - enough to apply 3 layers to a 7" cake *
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 lbs. confectioner's sugar
  • (optional - 2 tsp. glycerine)
Cake Frosting Recipe INSTRUCTIONS
Combine egg whites and lemon juice in a bowl. Add small amounts of confectioner's sugar at a time until icing is completely smooth and forms a peak. (Optional: at this time, you may add glycerine if using to frost a cake. This makes it easier to cut through).

Make icing thinner for piping lines by adding additional egg white. Make it thicker for floral decorations by adding more confectioner's sugar.

Cover icing with plastic wrap when using. It will quickly dry out. Use only a small portion at a time.The cake frosting recipe of royal icing is ready !

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 lb. (3-1/2 cups) confectioner's sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk

In mixer bowl, blend peanut butter and butter in bowl until combined. Gradually add confectioner's sugar and beat on low until blended. Add vanilla and a little bit of milk at a time, beating on low in between additions, until you attain a spreadable consistency. Beat on high 2 - 3 minutes until fluffy.

Icing may be spread immediately on to cooled cake or stored in the refrigerator. When cold, it will be difficult to spread on cake. Allow it to return to room temperature before spreading. The cake frosting recipe is ready !

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 lb. confectioner's sugar
  • 2 - 4 Tbsp. milk(according to desired consistency)

Place cream cheese and butter in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat on low speed until combined.

Add vanilla. Gradually add confectioner's sugar.

Scrape down beater and bowl. Add milk slowly while beating. Continue beating on medium speed until icing is smooth. The cake frosting recipe is ready !

INGREDIENTS
* 2 lbs. confectioner's sugar
* 2 tsps. vanilla
* about 1/2 c. milk (depending on desired consistency)
* 2 lbs. (4 sticks) butter at room temp.
* Optional: If making flowers replace butter with shortening

INSTRUCTIONS
Place butter in mixer bowl. Mix on low until slightly softened. Add vanilla. Gradually add confectioner's sugar, 1 cup at a time. Blend on
low, scraping the beater and bowl down in between.

If you accidentally add too much milk and have no extra confectioner's sugar on hand,the buttercream frosting can only serve to frost the cake. It's better to take your time adding the milk to get the consistency right.
If piping decorations with this buttercream icing recipe, do not overbeat. Incorporating too many air bubbles will cause problems during the decorating process.
